How to do URL shortening with Thesis

Ken Gary explains how to use Thesis 301 redirects to have your own private label URL shortener on your own domain.

In addition to the affiliate link examples I give in the video above here is another example of how to use this technique for something very useful…

The long ugly link to the amProtect signup page in aMember:

http://kencinnus.com/amember/signup.php?price_group=-10&product_id=24

The short sweet link to the same page with the Thesis 301 redirect URL shortening technique:

http://kencinnus.com/amprotect/

Hope this helps!

If you have any questions, comments or an even better way to do this please post them in the comments section below.

Best Regards,

Ken Gary

If you don’t like Thesis there are some other options:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-url-shortener/

    http://briancray.com/2009/08/26/free-php-url-shortener-script/

    http://yourls.org/

And I’m sure there are even more.
